The presentation started a little slow but picked up once he started showing us the possibilities with posterous.com.

Posterous is a blog space that is easily updated using mobile technology.  As a first grade teacher, I was excited to see some of the resources he shared.  I learned from this session that using a few free apps, my 7 year old students could maintain the blog themselves with information that they feel is important to share.  Useful links are below...

• symbaloo.com and sqworl.com---visual way to bookmark sites.  An example.  tonyv.me/examples
• garage band app could be used to create student voiced videos which you could link to your itunes and easily update to the blog.
• to update posterous simple send an email. The subject line serves as the blog post title.
• parents can respond and their response will post immediately (depending on your privacy settings)
• Vacaroo--an easy way to get audio onto your blog.  They have an app as well and you can send the video directly to your posterous email and it will upload to the blog. Website resources for Vacaroo are here.
